Japanese Tea Ceremony

1 hour

Mio Shudo – a qualified Master of the Urasenke Tea Ceremony – and her assistants, dressed in beautiful kimonos, present the history of the tea ceremony and its cultural significance. Accompanied by the shamisen, the Japanese three-stringed guitar, the tea ceremony will be performed, with each member of the audience having the opportunity to sample Japanese cakes and sweets and traditional macha green tea.

“Had a fantastic time at the Japanese Tea Ceremony, they should have this after my yoga. It was so relaxing.”

The event is free but places are limited and must be booked in advance.

Event part of the exhibition From East to West, organised in partnership with National Museums Scotland, supported by the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
