- Accessible adapted toilet facilities in foyer.
- A lift is available for travel to the upper floor.
- Limited disabled parking spaces available.
- Guide dogs are welcome at all our venues.
We have four wheelchair spaces available in the main auditorium for our events. It would help us greatly if you booked for a space in advance. Please notify Box Office if you have any special requirements.
When we show films, rows J to K are held for people with mobility needs until 15 minutes before the film starts.
If you have any queries about your visit to the Adam Smith Theatre that aren't answered here, please contact our Box Office, who will be happy to assist.
The Adam Smith Theatre supports breast feeding. If you wish to use a private area, please ask at reception. High chairs are available in the café. All children, including babies in arms, must have a valid ticket for a seat. So if you want to book in advance, you'll have to pay for a ticket for your baby. If you're prepared to wait and book 20 minutes before the start of a show your baby can have a complimentary ticket, as long as we're not sold out.
Adam Smith Theatre
Opened in 1899 as a memorial to social philosopher Adam Smith - now widely regarded as the father of modern economics -.this stunning theatre has an impressive facade and overlooks the Memorial Gardens and another ONFife venue, Kirkcaldy Galleries.
Enjoy a fantastically diverse and popular programme of events at this 475-seat venue, including comedy, dance, drama, music, and children's theatre. The theatre also supports and hosts local arts organisations, such as Kirkcaldy Amateur Operatic and Dramatic Societies, as well as classes and workshops. The popular Adam Smith pantomime is much loved by all ages and a highlight of the calendar, offering a magical festive introduction to theatre for our younger audience members.
When not in use for live performances, the main auditorium becomes a cinema, showing recently released blockbusters and classic films as well as hosting mini film festivals.
The Cafe Bar serves a selection of soup, sandwiches and cakes as well as our own blend of coffee, Lang Spoon Coffee, with all profits from sales reinvested into ONFife, which is a charity. The cafe bar is open: Mon-Sat 10am-3pm, Fri and Sat 6pm-11pm and from one hour before performances.
